Lipstick Enigma is a computer-driven sentence-generator made by Janet Zweig. The sculpture is made of 1200 resin lipsticks powered by 1200 stepper motors, controlled by 60 circuit boards. The software invents and writes a new line of text, using rules and a lexicon written by the artist, and displays it on the sign when triggered by a motion detector.

aA research studio @ DIA - Robotic Interfaces

BLOWmaker is anOther project of the Robotic Interfaces elective that aA : Daniel Dendra is teaching at DIA Dessau (Bauhaus). Claudia, Alex and Cosmos created a responsive surface prototype that “blows up” a ballon like structure once the proximity of a person is detected. A more elaborate version could use several sensors and fans to detect the exact position of people and create various shapes accordingly.

Imagine a room filled with BLOWmakers that hug you, catch you, release you, play with you.
